Fellowship Gathering
The heart of our church community, meeting regularly during the week for fellowship.
Paul Presbyterian Church teaches the Bible so that people may meet Jesus, who came as the truth.
We study the Scriptures to understand the faith that Jesus Christ taught and lived, to receive grace, and to live as God's holy children.
To help us understand this faith of Jesus Christ, we teach the heart of the apostle Paul's theology as follows.
The foundations of Paul's theology and the truth of the faith
The apostle Paul's theology was Scripture alone. He did not preach his own ideas; through the Scriptures, the word of God, he testified that Jesus is the Christ.
From the Scriptures, Paul testified that Jesus alone is the Christ. Today many antichrists, rather than testifying from the Scriptures that Jesus alone is the Christ, interpret the Bible to serve their own lives and promote themselves, leading people astray. The church must testify clearly from the Scriptures that Jesus alone is the Christ.
The faith alone that Paul testified to is the faith of Jesus Christ. Only the faith of Jesus Christ makes us righteous before God. To receive this faith as a gift, we must understand the word of the cross and the resurrection that Jesus taught and lived.
The grace alone that Paul testified to is the grace of Jesus Christ. We can be saved before God only by the grace of Jesus Christ, so we must understand the faith of Jesus Christ and receive that grace. Only those who receive the grace of Jesus Christ become righteous and complete as people of God.
Paul testified that only the word of the cross and the resurrection, which Jesus taught and lived, is the true gospel. Because the cross and the resurrection are the eternal gospel, Paul, who understood it, received the Holy Spirit, and whose faith became real, rejoiced to suffer with the gospel as a witness of Christ.
Even now, anyone who understands this gospel, receives the Holy Spirit, and whose faith becomes real will rejoice to suffer with the gospel.
